About the event
What is the Competition About?
The Youth City Changing Faces Competition (YC-CFC) is part of the broader Youth City initiative, which empowers young people to take active roles in leadership and shaping of cities to better reflect the aspirations and needs of young people. The project, led by the Public Space Network (PSN) with support from Denmark’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Dreamtown NGO, is being implemented in five African cities: Nairobi (Kenya), Kampala (Uganda), Harare (Zimbabwe), Bulawayo (Zambia), and Freetown (Sierra Leone). In Nairobi, it focuses on the low-income neighborhoods of Kamukunji, Korogocho, and Dandora.
The YC-CFC is a creative competition that mobilizes youth to rehabilitate neglected public spaces in their communities.
