About Us
Too often, public spaces fall into neglect, becoming unsafe and unusable. Our mission is to collaborate with local communities and support them in reclaiming these forgotten spaces and transform them into clean, green, safe, healthy and thriving community hubs.
We collaborate closely with government, technical experts and other stakeholders in pursuit of our mission. We define public spaces as all areas designated by applicable law as open and accessible to the general public whether for free or for a fee. Public spaces may comprise city streets, pathways, squares, parks, gardens and even water bodies and riparian land. Our approach is rooted in co-creation, ensuring that the people who live, work and transit through these spaces are the ones that demand, drive, shape and protect the transformation.
At the Public Space Network we believe that a people’s quality of life is in large part defined by the quality of their public spaces. We also very strongly believe that there is no faster, cheaper, impactful and more efficient way to improve a people’s quality of life than improving the quality of their public spaces. Poor quality public spaces rob people of their sense of pride and self-esteem and limit their ability to imagine a different reality characterized by opportunity, prosperity and dignity. Our work in restoring these spaces help to generate hope and create new pathways for people to re-imagine a new and better future.
